The Harley Davidson golf cart is a great, old buggy and those who have one consider themselves lucky. This particular vehicle has not been in production for several decades now, and this often means those buying one will not have the owner's manual that goes with the vehicle. One of the most common mistakes made by new owners is improperly mixing the fuel and oil. Without the owner's manual handy, this mistake is easy to understand. This article goes into how to properly mix the oil and fuel in a vintage Harley Davidson golf cart.

Before we go into the proper method for mixing the oil and fuel in a vintage Harley Davidson golf cart, let's be clear about one thing. Improper mixing can lead to severe damage in the engine. Once this damage occurs it has to be repaired if you want to operate the vehicle. These repairs can be time consuming and expensive. While you can certainly find Harley Davidson golf cart repair parts online, it is not always easy finding them. When you do find them, the price may be high simply due to the scarcity of these old parts. The best way to avoid having to make these repairs is to protect the engine by using the right fuel and oil mix.

If your Harley Davidson golf car has a recently rebuild engine, you want to use 3 ounces of good quality 2-cycle oil for each gallon of gas in the first tank of gas. Once this first tank is used up, decrease the oil to 1.5 ounces per gallon of gas. Keep in mind that this first tank (the one using 3 ounces of oil) may foul the plug. Be prepared to change out the plug before going to the second tank of gas. It is a lot less expensive to buy a new plug than it is to rebuild the engine.

Once you apply this mix to your Harley Davidson golf cart, you will be able to enjoy your vehicle without fear of burning the motor up. Take care of your vintage vehicle and don't forget to pass it on to someone who will care for it as you do.

In the market for a used golf cart? Did you know that they’re not just for driving around the course anymore? You can use them to haul yard gear and transport gardening supplies and tools. They can also be utilized simply as a way to get from point A to point B if you’ve got a large piece of property or just need a little assistance getting around. Also, a used golf cart can be a big help if you’re a family who likes to travel. They’re great to have on camping trips for tooling around the grounds, or getting to the store, showers and swimming hole. And of course, they still make your golfing experience more enjoyable when cruising around the course instead of walking, especially on those warm days. Used golf carts are available in electric or gas power and range in price from around $1,500 to higher end versions priced at around $4,000 depending on the extras you choose. There’s also lots of online companies that also sell reconditioned carts for an even more economical approach. Another money-saving tactic is that if you’re mechanically inclined and have an old golf cart that may be out of commission due to worn out or broken parts, you can purchase a wide variety of replacement parts, either aftermarket, used, refurbished or new, from an online dealer. One new and fun aspect of owning a used golf cart these days is that you can also get them custom painted! There are companies that will airbrush your name, boat name, or even a cartoon character or favorite scene and most places just need a picture or sketch of your idea to create original artwork for your cart which will make it uniquely yours! What about cart stretching? Instead of purchasing a larger cart, this concept involves cutting an existing 2-seater golf cart in half and then combining it with another to ‘stretch’ your seating and space availability. It can also increase the safety and comfort of your passengers which is always a good idea. Additionally, if you’ve got a used golf cart, or are planning on purchasing one and it may not come exactly the way you wanted, there’s lots of accessories and updates you can add to it. Some of these include heaters with 12 to 48 voltage capabilities that plug right into the cart’s power outlet. You can order custom-made seats in your choice of upholstery and color, a new canopy or even different floor mats. Look around online to see all of the many options that are available to you. For all its uses, a used golf cart is a functional and fun way to get things done.

While many people think that golf isn’t really golf unless you walk the course, the reality is that some people just can’t do that. That’s where golf carts come in handy. This author personally won’t play golf very often without the benefit of a golf cart, but that’s just my preference – I tend to be a little lazy. But with the new golf carts that are out today, they really can make golf a little more enjoyable. Besides not having to haul your golf bag around with you, the golf cart can also help you avoid fatigue and carry along a cooler of snacks, soda, or beer along with you if that’s what you like to do when you golf. You can also get a good rest on a hot day when you use a golf cart to navigate the course. There are basically three big golf cart manufacturers that dominate the golf cart market: * Yamaha * EZ Go * Club Car Some golf carts are powered with small gas engines while others are electrically powered. The electric golf carts were the first mass-produced electric vehicles for private consumer use. Modern golf carts may have car-like styling despite being no bigger than a traditional golf cart. Accessories such as audio entertainment systems, custom wheels, and custom body panels in an assortment of colors are now being offered as choices for the personal golf cart. Golf carts aren’t just used on the golf course. Some small communities or neighborhoods will use a golf cart where their lack of pollutants, lack of noise, and safety for pedestrians and other cars are beneficial. While purpose-built for general transportation, these are called Neighborhood Electric Vehicles and they have various operating limitations such as top speed and heavy regulation on street use. They do resemble traditional golf carts in style, but some are enclosed to accommodate for use in all types of weather. There is a huge market for aftermarket parts on golf carts. Each major manufacturing company has their own line of aftermarket parts to enhance off-road capabilities. Because golf carts can have a long life, people often buy used golf carts making these aftermarket parts very valuable to people who need to fix broken parts of their golf cart. Golf carts are considered by many golfers to be an essential part of the golf game. Others just think the golf cart make a golf course more dangerous. Either way, the truth is golf carts can really help make the game more enjoyable by leaps and bounds.

Golf Carts, Not Just For the Golf Course Anymore!

Golf Carts Price

I own a golf cart dealership located in North Florida. We sell and service golf carts, both electric and gas powered. At our dealership there are far more electric powered golf carts that we repair than there are gas. I would say we see about a hundred electric carts to every gas powered in our service department. This isn't because gas cars are so much better and require less servicing. The reason for the mass difference is due to our location. We are in North Florida. Flat without any hills North Florida. We are also in a State that has been very "go green" friendly. Hence, not really a high demand for gas powered golf carts for the not so hilly greens. And right along with every electric golf cart is the golf cart's battery charger. We have walk-ins every week bringing us these chargers for us to diagnose.Sometimes the charger is just fine indicating that there is a problem on the golf cart which we then schedule for pickup. However, the majority of the time the initial plug in test indicates some sort of failure with the battery charger. There is a pretty good chance that the power surge demon attacked the battery charger. We live in an area of North Florida that has more than our fair share of electrical power surges. And if that's not bad enough we also experience a great number of afternoon thunderstorms accompanied by enough lightening that would have made Ben Franklin want to live here!I hope I have communicated these concepts in a positive way that helps us understand the need for a surge protector to be installed in the power circuit to the golf cart's battery charger. And in doing so you will prevent having to pay for costly repairs caused by the "electrical demons" of power surges and electrical spikes. With the end result of you saving money and taking better care of your golf cart. It is for these things why I write. I write for you and your understanding of your golf cart. Thank you for taking the time to read what I have to say. You honor me by doing so. OK, until next time we meet, get out there and enjoy your golf cart. After all, isn't that what you bought it for? At one point in time, the use of a golf cart was something only the somewhat wealthy could enjoy on a golf course. Those who were not able to afford the use of a golf cart often found themselves hauling their clubs over their shoulder as they walked the golf course. Well, times have changed. Golf carts are now the standard at almost all golf courses throughout the country. Very seldom do golfers carry their clubs over their shoulder anymore. Unfortunately, some recreational golfers like to treat the course golf cart like a toy rather than a purposeful mode of transportation. Often times, you can witness wreckless behavior exchanged between recreational golfers and the use of their golf carts. However, this is one minor annoyance as a result of the golf cart gaining popularity. Typically, golf carts are available for rent from the course clubhouse. Most golfers take advantage of this service. An alternative, if you have the money, would be to buy your own golf cart. To find a Harley Davidson Golf cart in pristine condition is truly a find. You will find Harley Davidson Golf Cart collectors all over the United States. The Harley Davidson company started building golf carts in 1963. They started out building both gas golf vehicles as well as electric cars.

THREE-WHEELS
The first Harley golf cars where three wheeled. The cart had 2 rear wheels and one center wheel in the front. The cart had a unique steering bar that was used instead of a steering wheel. This steering handle is actually called a tiller steering wheel. The three wheeled carts are less stable on hard turns than their four -wheeled cousins but the unique look of the cart make collectors salivate when they see a nice one. The electric carts were actually less popular and thus there are fewer of these carts in existence today.

THE CLASSIC
The rear end on some of the carts were raised to give the cart a deep well. This well is where the golf club bags were placed. This particular model is known as the "Classic". These models also had only three wheels. Although the back was raised, this should not be confused with the lifted golf carts you sometimes see today.

The attraction for HD carts started to fade and production stopped ultimately in 1982. Since then, several companies have produced cheap quality Harley-Davidson golf cart replicas. For those wanting a an original, it is highly advisable to look into having an expert in golf cars look at the cart first.

Today people drive these street legal carts around golf courses and retirement villages. Owners are a still buying golf cart accessories for Harley Davidson Carts as many of these carts are still actively used. The restoration of these carts are not only fun but rewarding. There really is not a lot to a golf cart and the restoration of a HD car is not only fun but a fairly easy project. It is certainly much easier than trying to restore an automobile.
